hello !

meredithwatson and i are very excited about this new group! we feel it's a group that should have existed before now. i found a group for abstract expressionism here, but it was totally dead. merry and i started talking in the comments of that group and decided we needed a really good abstract expressionist group.

because of that, we've invited people that we know make very good work and are interesting artists to talk to. i think we all have a lot in common! in fact, almost everybody here so far watches each other. the group is small, and we don't really intend for it to grow really quickly. we think our gallery is remarkable already!

a word about the folders. it seems silly to divide our work into a bunch of categories, so we didn't create lots of folders to submit to. that way we have a chance to look at more of our art more easily.  you can put your works into any of the 'expressions" folders. we'll pick things to go in the featured folder.

for the moment we're accepting 5 deviations per day. that will probably change later, but right now we want to see lots of your work flowing into our gallery (we're still voting on it though! lol).

if you know people that will be a good fit, send them our way.

it might take a little longer than some groups, to vote on your work. that's because merry's in the UK and i'm in San Francisco and each submission requires both of our votes.

any questions, comments, thoughts are all welcomed in the comments of this journal. we'll try to be as helpful as we can.

watch for us, we'll be out there requesting work all the time!
